Delete your account
Buckets & Bucks — com.wildman.bucketsandbucks
You can delete your account and everything stored for it at any time. There are two ways.
In the app (immediate)
- Open Buckets & Bucks.
- Go to More → Settings.
- Tap Delete account and cloud data.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
This happens straight away. If you signed in a while ago, Google may ask you to sign in again first — that is a security requirement for deleting an account, not an error.
By email
If you can no longer access the app — a lost or wiped phone, for instance — email privacy@bucketsandbucks.app from the address you signed in with, and ask for your account to be deleted. Requests are handled within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Everything the app has stored for your account, permanently and with no backup kept:
- Your sign-in account itself
- Transactions, categories, category groups and accounts
- Budgets, planned items, month closes and categorisation rules
Deleting from inside the app also clears the copy held on that phone, so the app starts over as if newly installed.
What is kept, and why
- None of your budget is retained by us after deletion. There are no analytics and no advertising services in this app, so there is no secondary copy of your transactions, balances or categories anywhere.
- Crash reports are the one exception, and they contain none of your data. If the app has crashed, a diagnostic report describing the failure and your device may still be held by Google Firebase Crashlytics. Those reports never contain transactions, amounts, balances, category or account names, notes or receipt images, and they are not linked to your name or email — so there is nothing in them to identify you or reconstruct your budget. See the privacy policy for what a crash report does contain.
- Purchase records for any subscription are held by Google Play, not by this app, and are governed by Google's privacy policy. Deleting your account here does not cancel a Google Play subscription — cancel that in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions.
- Data stored only on your phone is removed when you delete from inside the app, or when you uninstall it.
If you only want to stop syncing
Signing out stops all cloud syncing and leaves both your cloud data and your phone's data untouched. You do not need to delete your account to stop using cloud backup.
